AQUACHIM AD participated  in celebration of 50 th Anniversary of the eradication of malaria in the Republic of Bulgaria

 

“Bulgaria -50 years malaria free” conference was held on May 29, 2015 in Sofia. Ministry of Health, National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases and the Bulgarian Society for Parasitology hosted the event .

Malaria is one of the most widespread infectious diseases, known since ancient times. It is a tropical disease that causes high mortality.The Ministry of Health informs that according to the World Health Organization (WHO), malaria is one of the most widespread infectious diseases worldwide. It is a global health problem in more than 100 countries which are inhabited by about 2.4 billion people (this is 40% of world population). That is why, the achievement of our country to be malaria free for the last 50 years is of global importance.The World Health Organization published an article about the event on its website.

The global malaria status, the current condition and history of malaria in Bulgaria as well as information on  transmission spices  - mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles were presented during the scientific forum.AQUACHIM AD presented the opportunities of modern molecular biological analyzes for rapid diagnosis of malaria, which provoked great interest by participants in the conference and lead to scientific debates.

The audience was satisfied with professionally presented lectures at the seminars, and with the excellent  organisation by the hosts from the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.
